Jeanette Van Zandt 90th Birthday Celebration
Paper: Arturo Pink Envelopes & Legion Pleat Lime

We are principals in an engraving company that traces its roots back to 1890, and it is our own Mother's 90th Birthday! Jeanette's father was Marcel Bournique, one of the founders of the original company!! We had to do something really beautiful. Jeanette wanted a green and pink color scheme. Immediately our mind went to the beautiful Arturo stock. The pink color is both soft and sophisticated at the same time?we did not want a "bubble gum" pink?but something elegant and Arturo with the deckle edges and "hand made quality and feeling" really fit the bill perfectly.

We wanted a really stunning lining?not the run of the mill paper, but something that would really enhance the entire invitation as soon as we saw the "Green Pleats" (from Legion's Eastern Decorative Collection) we knew we had a winner---the party was for April 5th and the "Green Pleats" has a gorgeous "spring" feeling to it. We custom mixed ink to match the "Green Pleats" and engraved the entire invitation in that color.

We think that this piece is absolutely PROOF POSITIVE that a simple ONE COLOR ENGRAVED job combining beautiful paper creates an absolutely stunning piece. Paper ALWAYS makes the difference---Take this same job and put it on an ordinary commercial paper and it is just that ordinary?put it on a fabulous paper and it is as it appears simply fabulous!! Every response that we received to the party had a comment about how beautiful the invitations were and really set the tone for this wonderful occasion!!
