Goyu is a handmade, acid-free traditional white paper with four deckle edges. It has a natural white color, smooth surface, and is semi-translucent when held up to a strong light. Subtle laid lines from the paper mould are visible.
Made of equal parts kozo fibers and sulphite, Goyu is ideal for block printing, chine colle, and sumi painting. Goyu is also used as a hinging paper.
Goyu is also an excellent paper choice for platinum/palladium prints, cyanotypes, van dykes, and most other hand coated processes.
